Chapel of Archangel Michael

This medieval little chapel of exceptional historical value is located in the central square of Frenaros, built right next to the newer and much larger eponymous parish church of 1969. It is a small, single-space church with a dome, which follows the Byzantine style and is constructed of sturdy, roughly hewn limestone blocks. In the interior of the church survive a few fragments of ancient wall paintings, while the space today functions as a protected architectural relic of the community. The little church exudes a unique atmosphere of devotion and medieval grandeur, being a living witness to the long religious tradition of the village.
