Chapel of Panagia Galoktisti

This extremely old and devout chapel is built upon a height between the communities of Pano and Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias. According to local popular tradition, the old shepherds used milk instead of water in order to make the mud for its erection, thus giving the name to the church. Architecturally it consists of a small single-space vaulted area, to which a narthex with a low dome was later added, while in its interior survive two precious phases of medieval wall paintings.
