Chapel of Panagia Petountas

This is a beautiful and extremely popular seaside chapel that is located to the south of the village of Mazotos, built upon ancient ruins of the Roman period. According to local Christian tradition, its name is owed to the fact that the Theotokos arrived in the area flying, while very close by is also preserved the holy spring (agiasma) that gushes from the rock. The small stone structure is located just a few meters from the waves, combining absolute devotion with the magic of the natural Cypriot landscape.
