Chapel of Saint Charalampou

This old, stone-built and vaulted chapel is located on the northern coastline of Cyprus, very close to the archaeological site of Panagia Pergaminiotissa. It is built next to a small bay and near a traditional source of fresh water that bears the name of the Saint. The church presents particular interest for its built iconostasis, while after 1974 it suffered serious plundering and desecrations. Recently some necessary works of structural conservation and rescue of its structure were completed with the funding of the European Union.
