Chapel of Saint Nikandrou

An isolated and beautiful stone chapel that is built in the heart of the eponymous seaside National Forest Park, very close to Makronisos beach and Landa beach. The area has deep roots in ecclesiastical tradition, as in the past the spot was an official dependency (metochi) of the historic Monastery of Ayia Napa. Although the old natural water source that gushed from the adjacent rock has now dried up, the church remains an extremely popular spiritual refuge. The surrounding space is ideally arranged as an organized excursion space within a verdant natural environment with a direct view of the vast blue of the Mediterranean.
