Church of Apostle Luke

This particular stone chapel is found to the north of the settlement of Akounta, built in an idyllic location that offers a panoramic view towards the Germasogeia dam. It is a small, single-aisled vaulted shrine that for a long period was in a ruinous state, until its full restoration by the Department of Antiquities in 2012. Its masonry consists of hard, characteristic grey-green local stones, while its small capacity and the fact that it usually remains closed make it unsuitable for sacraments.
