Church of Archangel Michael

This historic church is located in the old city within the Venetian walls and is one of the most important monuments of the Ottoman period in Nicosia. Its construction was completed in a very short period at the end of the seventeenth century, upon the ruins of an older medieval monastic complex. In its interior dominates the largest and most imposing wood-carved iconostasis of the capital, while the church is to this day an extremely active and vibrant parish.
