Church of Holy Cross (Kouka)

This historic church was the katholikon of one of the oldest monasteries of Limassol, closely connected with the passage of Saint Helen from the island. It is a rare structure in the shape of a free cross, whose original dome was destroyed and replaced during the Frankish rule by a peculiar Gothic groin vault with ribs. In its interior are kept with the highest reverence historic relics with sawdust from the Holy Wood (True Cross), as well as excellently crafted medieval frescoes.
