Church of Holy Cross

This plain church is dedicated to the Holy Cross and is the central religious structure of the small community of Akoursos in Paphos. Its construction is based on the plain local stone and follows the type of the single-aisled basilica, fully harmonized with the traditional character of the settlement. Its interior is distinguished by its intense devout atmosphere, hosting a simple iconostasis and old icons that the few residents of the area honor. Its precinct offers a quiet environment for prayer, with a beautiful view toward the semi-mountainous relief of the surrounding district.
