Church of Panagia Chryseleousas

This historic church dominates the community of Pano Akourdaleia in Paphos and is a protected monument of great archaeological value. The structure is single-aisled and bears an impressive stone-built arch, while the exterior walls betray the long history and the various phases of conservation that it received over the centuries. In its interior an intensely devout atmosphere prevails, preserving certain old elements of the original iconostasis and precious religious icons. Its quiet paved precinct is ideal for contemplation and offers a beautiful view toward the semi-mountainous relief of the surrounding area.
