Church of Panagia of the Chariton

This particular church is the official cathedral of the Maronite Catholic Church in Cyprus and is located next to the historic Paphos Gate of Nicosia. The current building was erected in the early 1960s to cover the increased religious needs of the community, replacing the old Maronite monastic complex. It is an excellent example of Cypriot modernism and functions as the central spiritual and social core of the Maronites of the island.
