Church of Saint Avxentiou

This church is dedicated to Saint Auxentios the Alaman, who practiced asceticism in a cave of the area, and its present stone-built form is the product of successive construction phases. It is a single-aisled, rectangular structure with a pointed arch, which incorporates architectural elements from older building structures. This historic monument of Karpasia is under Turkish occupation since 1974, making the regular celebration of services impossible.
