Church of Saint Barbara Kaimakli

This imposing stone-built church is located in the center of the historic core of Kaimakli in Nicosia and has given its name to the central square of the area. Its construction began at the end of the nineteenth century and was completed after a few decades, while it stands out for its tall, elaborate bell tower and its precious wood-carved iconostasis. Today it is a vibrant spiritual and cultural core for the parish, hosting crowds of the faithful and religious events.
