Church of Saint Catherine (Metochi sina)

This church is an official dependency (metochi) of the renowned and historic Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine of Mount Sinai that is located in Egypt. Its erection in the area of Agios Andreas in Nicosia was completed during the second half of the twentieth century to serve the needs of the Sinaite fathers. It functions as a quiet spiritual lung, keeping alive the very ancient bonds of Cyprus with the great monastic center of the desert.
