Church of Saint George

This small, single-space church is located in the isolated mountainous location of Palaio Apliki in the Nicosia district, belonging to the Holy Metropolis of Tamasos and Oreini. It is a plain, traditional structure of the countryside with thick stone walls, which is surrounded by the intense natural relief of the area. The church functions mainly as a historic and spiritual monument of the community, evoking particular devotion in the few hikers and pilgrims who visit it. Owing to its extremely limited dimensions and its remote location, it is not used for the celebration of weddings or baptisms.
