Church of Saint George

This small church was the original parish core of the borderland village before the great pilgrimage site of Saints Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene was built. During the violent intercommunal clashes of August 1964, the structure found itself at the epicenter of the Turkish air raids and suffered total destruction. After years of abandonment, the monument was fully restored in the early 1990s thanks to the efforts of the local Metropolis. Today it stands renovated next to the waves, functioning as a historic chapel and a symbol of memory for the sorely tried area of Tylliria.
