Church of Saint Korniliou

This distinctive chapel in Paralimni is built in cruciform Byzantine style with a dome and is one of the very few little churches in Cyprus that are dedicated to Saint Cornelius the Centurion. It was erected in the mid-1980s on the site of an older and makeshift church, which had suffered serious damage. From the original structure the old Holy Table as well as a rare icon of popular style were saved and transferred into its interior, while the church stands out for its beautiful wall-painting decoration.
