Holy Chapel of Saint Timothy and Saint Mavris

Mrs. Persephone Alexandrou, according to testimonies of the residents, related that at the spot where the church is now located a dark-haired nun appeared to her who told her that at that spot they would "build her a house." She also urged her to hold a service in order to be healed. Mrs. Persephone asked her who she was and the nun answered that she was the Arapina, Saint Mavri. Mrs. Persephone, after this event, brought to her home the icon of the Saint where all the residents venerated it. This little church was built from the vision of Mrs. Chrysi Avraam who heard about the Saint. Mrs. Avraam, who had 6 miscarriages, invoked Saint Mavri while she was pregnant. The Saint visited Mrs. Chrysi in a vision and assured her that she would carry and give birth to her child, as indeed happened. The Avraam family as well as Mrs. Chrysi undertook the expenses for this church at the spot that was revealed to Mrs. Persephone.
