Holy Church of Archangel Michael

This church is the central church of the occupied community of Kontemenos, which is located on the southern foothills of the Pentadaktylos mountain range. After the Turkish invasion of 1974 and the complete displacement of the Greek population, the church ceased to function normally for the worship needs of the faithful. The structure bears the classic form of the churches of the Cypriot countryside of that period, remaining a silent historic landmark and symbol of memory for the refugee inhabitants of the area.
