Holy Church of Panagia Chrysaliniotissas

This exceptionally important church is considered the oldest surviving Byzantine church in the walled old town of Nicosia. Its structure is a complex cluster of architectural phases, as it was extended and radically reshaped during the period of the Frankish and Venetian rule. Inside it is kept an invaluable collection of rare, very ancient icons, while the church is to this day a spiritual beacon for this borderline district of the capital.
