Holy Church of Panagia Chryseleousis

The imposing church of Panagia Chryseleousa in the community of Athienou is an important religious monument of the Larnaca district. It was built by the hands of the inhabitants themselves, who transported building stone from the mountain range after the services. Internally, it has an elaborate marble iconostasis and is historically decorated with authentic wall paintings and hagiographies created under the supervision of the monk Kallinikos.
