Holy Church of Panagia Chrysoenkomitissis

This is the main parish church of the occupied village of Engomi in the Famagusta district, which is dedicated to Panagia Chrysoengomitissa. This stone structure was traditionally the focal point of the social and religious life of the community's inhabitants until the events of 1974. Owing to the ongoing Turkish occupation, the church remains inaccessible for the free attendance of the displaced faithful, making the celebration of weddings or baptisms impossible.
