Holy Church of Saint Anthony

This historic church is located in the eponymous district of old Nicosia, within the Venetian walls. It was erected during the period of Ottoman rule upon the ruins of older structures and was closely connected with the family of the well-known Dragoman Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios. The building stands out for its single-space, tiled character, the elaborate stone bell tower, as well as for the wood-carved iconostasis of excellent craftsmanship that adorns its interior.
