Holy Church of Saint Barbara Akakiou

This is a small and hospitable religious structure, known as a holy chapel, which is located in the community of Akaki in the Nicosia district. It belongs ecclesiastically to the region of the Holy Metropolis of Morphou and is an important spot of spiritual rest for the local residents. The church celebrates its feast with particular splendor every year at the beginning of December, attracting the faithful from the wider area to honor the memory of the Holy Great Martyr. Because of its limited interior space, it is not used for the celebration of large social sacraments, but remains an ideal space for serenity and individual prayer.
