Holy Church of Saint Barbara

This particular stone-built church is the main church of the small community and dominates imposingly in the area of Marathasa. The structure follows the architectural type of the single-aisled basilica with a gabled roof. In its interior are hosted precious icons of excellent Byzantine style, with the most important being that of the honored Saint. The church celebrates its feast every year at the beginning of December, gathering many of the faithful and representatives of the Metropolis of Morphou.
