Holy Church of Saint George Genagron

This is a very distinctive medieval church in the occupied village of Genagra of Mesaoria, which is built partly above an underground cave. The original structure was expanded during the period of Frankish rule and joined with the cave space, which functions as the sanctuary. Because of the Turkish occupation since 1974, the church is not accessible for sacraments; however, recently it received complete consolidation and conservation of its architectural structures and its remaining wall paintings by the Technical Committee for Cultural Heritage.
