Holy Church of Saint George

This is the main parish church of the occupied village of Koilanemos in the area of Karpasia, built with the characteristic traditional stone of the area. The church served all the spiritual needs of the few residents of the community until the Turkish invasion and their displacement in 1974. Today, this historic structure is located within the occupied zone, remains silent and inactive, a fact that makes the celebration of Christian weddings or baptisms impossible.
