Holy Church of Saint Hilarion

This particular church is the central church of the community of Episkopi in Paphos and is dedicated to the protector saint of the village, Saint Hilarion the Great. The structure is located in a prominent position at the top of the impressive eponymous rock of the area, offering a panoramic view toward the valley of the Ezousa River. Its erection was carried out immediately after the catastrophic earthquake that struck Cyprus in 1953, in order to replace the older medieval church that was located at the foothills and suffered serious damage.
