Holy Church of Saint Lazarus

This is the most important historic and religious monument of Larnaca, built over the second tomb of Saint Lazarus 'of the four days', who served as the first Bishop of Kition. The stone church is a unique example of Byzantine church architecture with three domes, which were unfortunately destroyed during the Turkish occupation period and replaced by the present roof. Inside it stands an invaluable wood-carved Baroque iconostasis, while the crypt beneath the sanctuary attracts hundreds of pilgrims daily from all over the world.
