Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Alassa (Ruins)

This modern and spacious church was erected in the centre of the new settlement of Alassa in order to replace the old church of the same name that was submerged in the waters of the Kouris dam. The structure follows the architectural type of the single-aisled basilica, having a well-cared-for interior decoration with wooden stalls, an elaborate iconostasis and majestic hagiographies. It is the main spiritual and worship core of the community, where all the great religious feasts, parish events and the inhabitants' sacraments are regularly held.
