Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Syfylou Alonas

The picturesque country chapel of Saint Nicholas is located in the mountainous location of Symfyllos, about ten kilometres north of Alona. It was erected in the 15th century and is the only historic remnant of the old settlement of Pigadoulia, which was abandoned during the Frankish years. The church follows the traditional timber-roofed style of the Troodos area, while the community continues to hold contemplative services there, keeping alive the rich religious heritage of the area.
