Holy Church of Saint Nikita

This historic church is located in the occupied village of the Morphou district and follows the type of the single-aisled longitudinal basilica with cross-vaults. After the events of nineteen seventy-four, the religious monument had its use violently changed as it was converted by the occupation forces into a Muslim mosque. The building's southern gate was sealed in order to construct a mihrab internally, rendering the church unusable for the displaced inhabitants.
