Holy Church of Saint Panteleimon, Lower Akourdaleia

This picturesque stone-built church is located in the centre of Kato Akourdaleia and is the religious landmark of the community. The structure follows the simple architectural type of the single-aisled basilica and is built of the characteristic traditional stone of the Paphos area. Inside it, a deeply contemplative atmosphere is maintained, decorated with an old iconostasis and historic icons that the inhabitants honour with reverence. Its well-kept paved courtyard offers a quiet setting and a panoramic view over the lush green valley and the surrounding rural expanses.
