Holy Church of Saint Photini

This is a small, ruined Byzantine church that is located near the historic Monastery of Saint John Chrysostom on the slopes of Pentadaktylos. After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the area was converted into a controlled military zone, with the result that the church was used illegally as a warehouse for ammunition and war material. The church remains inactive and completely inaccessible for the displaced faithful, being one more worship monument that has suffered the consequences of the occupation.
