Holy Church of Saint Theodosios

This noteworthy Byzantine church stands a few metres outside the community of Acheleia and is dedicated to Saint Theodosios the Cenobiarch. It is a plain, cruciform structure with a dome, built with unworked poros stones at a level lower than the ground surface. Inside the church, valuable remnants of old wall paintings from various periods survive, along with a finely crafted wood-carved iconostasis.
