Holy Monastery Chrysorogiatissas

This important and historic monastic complex is built in an idyllic mountainous location near the community of Pano Panagia of Paphos, at an altitude of about 900 meters. It was originally founded during the 12th century by the monk Ignatios, while its present single-aisled katholikon was restored and took its form at the end of the 18th century. The monastery is dedicated to Panagia of the Golden Pomegranate (Chrysorrogiatissa) and is famous for the rich ecclesiastical relic collection, its own winery, as well as for the great religious festival that is organized every fifteenth of August.
