Holy Monastery of Panagia Amasgous

This historic women's monastery is built upon a verdant hill outside the village of Monagri in the Limassol district, near the banks of the Kouris River. The original katholikon of the monastery is a small, single-space church with a gabled wooden roof, which preserves in its interior wall paintings of excellent quality from various time periods. After centuries of desolation, the monastic complex was fully re-established in the early 1990s. Today it is an organized space of spiritual restoration, which includes modern workshops of icon painting and sewing.
