Holy Monastery of Prophet Elias of the Maronites Monachon

Owing to the Turkish invasion of 1974 and the occupation of the historic monastery of the Prophet Elias in Agia Marina Skylloura, the community of the Maronites relocated the operation of the brotherhood to free Cyprus. The new Holy Monastery was built in the area of Agia Varvara Nicosia, being now the modern spiritual, worship, and administrative center for the Maronite monks of the island. The church keeps alive the long-standing traditions, the language, and the rite of the Maronite Church, offering daily services for the faithful.
