Holy Monastery of Saint Napas

An imposing medieval monastic complex in the form of a fortified castle, which is located in the heart of the modern tourist resort. The original core of the church is hollowed and was formed around a natural cave where the miraculous icon of the Panagia was found by a hunter. The surrounding space is adorned with tall stone walls, a beautiful interior courtyard, an octagonal marble fountain, and a historic sycamore over six hundred years old. Today the monument functions as a cultural and conference center, hosting at the same time a small religious museum.
