Holy Unmercenaries Frenaros

This beautiful and well-kept chapel is located about one kilometer southeast outside the village of Frenaros, surrounded by a quiet rural landscape. The modern church was erected recently and faced externally with white stone, replacing an older and extremely small, plain little chapel of 15 people that had collapsed from time. Its interior is plain and has an elegant wood-carved iconostasis, offering a warm space of worship for the parishioners. The chapel celebrates its feast with particular grandeur twice a year, attracting crowds of the faithful from the wider Famagusta district who come to honor the memory of the miracle-working physicians Cosmas and Damian.
