Katakomvi Saint Solomonis

This unique underground place of worship is located in the heart of Kato Paphos and is one of the most important early Christian monuments on the island. It is a rock-hewn complex of caves and tombs of the Hellenistic period, which was used by the first Christians as a refuge and place of prayer. Inside the catacomb, a small underground little church with old wall paintings and a spring with holy water is preserved, while at the entrance a centuries-old terebinth tree dominates, where the faithful tie handkerchiefs for healing.
