Life - Givingspring

This traditional single-aisled and wooden-roofed church is built in the core of the eponymous mountainous village of Pitsilia, bearing a characteristic projecting apse. In the past its entire interior was covered with extensive wall paintings, of which today only certain fragments survive owing to later plaster coatings. The erection of the structure is placed chronologically in the transitional period between the end of the fifteenth and the beginning of the sixteenth century.
