Medieval Chapel of Saint George

This small medieval chapel is located in the important archaeological site of Agios Georgios of Peyia, very close to the coastline. The stone edifice preserves authentic elements of the Byzantine church building of the period, being an integral part of the historic complex of the area. Owing to its limited dimensions and the protected character of the site, it functions mainly as a monument and a station for individual pilgrimage, offering an atmosphere of deep historic contemplation beside the waves.
