Old Church of Panagia Chrysopantanassas

This is a historic, stone-built church with vaulted construction, which is located in the community of Agrokipia. It was erected in the early 20th century and was originally in the centre of the village, before the residential expansion brought it to the edge of the community. It has a tall, traditional bell tower that abuts the building and an iconostasis of distinctive craftsmanship in its interior. Today it is used mainly for special services, such as supplications during the fortnight of the Dormition (Dekapentavgoustos), and owing to its character it is no longer preferred for the celebration of social sacraments.
