Old Church of Saint Mamas (Ruins)

This monument is the ruined remains of the old church of Saint Mamas in the community of Koili in Paphos. This historic church was completely destroyed by the powerful earthquake that struck the district in 1953, so that only rubble of its stonework remained. Owing to its condition, the site lacks a functional roof or capacity and the worship activity has now been transferred to the newly built chapel of the same name in the village. Today, the rubble functions exclusively as a historic sight that attests to the natural disasters of the past.
