Panagia Asprovouniotissa

This historic church is located to the east of the village and formerly functioned as a monastery, being the central church of the community. Its name is inspired by the characteristic white colour of the hill on which it is built. During its construction, ancient pagan statues were used as building material to reinforce the masonry. After successive renovations, the later plaster was removed to reveal its authentic, stone-built form.
