Panagia Chrysopolitissa

This is one of the oldest and most impressive churches of Larnaca, which is built upon an artificial hill that covered part of the ancient necropolises and the acropolis of Kition. The structure stands out for its traditional stonework and its elegant southern portico, which bears characteristic medieval arches and incorporates columns from ancient buildings. Inside it are kept rare historic icons and a wood-carved iconostasis of exceptional artistry, being a timeless spiritual jewel of the town.
