Panagia Koumniou

According to the local tradition of Vavatsinia, the chapel is connected with a miraculous event. When the local cultivators were working in their fields, they found a small religious icon (emblem) hidden behind a large clay jar, which in the Cypriot dialect is called 'koumni'. From this find came the name 'Panagia tou Koumniou'.
