Panagia Mavroforousa
The ancient country chapel of Panagia Mavroforousa lies isolated on the lush green heights of Kalopanagiotis, in the historic area of Tzelia. It is a small and plain shrine with the characteristic timber-roofed ceiling of Marathasa, which protects it from the intense weather phenomena. The church maintains a deeply contemplative atmosphere and is closely connected with the old monastic traditions, being a hesychasterion for the few hikers who visit the area.
