Panagia Stazousa

This isolated medieval monastery is the oldest dependency (metochi) of the Stavrovouni Monastery and is built of hewn limestone. It was originally founded by Latin monks and is dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi (the Life-giving Spring), while its name is connected with the healing of a noblewoman. From the old complex, the main church is preserved in good condition, which stands out for its impressive arches and cross-vaults. The site offers absolute serenity in the countryside and has been recently renovated for its protection.
